Deficit Reduction Act of 2005 Statement

The Federal Deficit Reduction Act of 2005 contains many provisions reforming Medicare and Medicaid that are designed to reduce program spending.

Since The Arc of Warren County is a participant in federal healthcare programs and receives reimbursement from Medicaid, we are required to comply with certain provisions under Section 6032 of the Deficit Reduction Act of 2005.

The Agency is required by law to establish certain policies and provide all employees with information regarding: (1) The Federal False Claims Act and similar state laws, (2) an employee’s right to be protected as a whistleblower, and (3) The Arc of Warren County’s policies and procedures for detecting and preventing fraud, waste, and abuse in state and federal healthcare programs.

Furthermore, volunteers, Board Members, outside vendors and Business Associates are required to learn about and abide by the same provisions of the Deficit Reduction Act.

The full policies can be found in the Agency’s Compliance Manual, which is available upon request.
